Islam is an Arabic Word. Islam is a religion of peace, purity, submission and obedience. In the religious sense, ISLAM means submission or surrender of one’s will to the only true GOD worthy of wordship "ALLAH" and anyone who does freely and consciously accepts the Islamic way of life and sincerely practices it is called "Muslim".
Islam is not a new religion. Muslim believe in one GOD (called ALLAH in Arabic) and Muhammad (PBUH) as the final prophet of ALLAH. The message which was revealed to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is comprehensive, complete and final form. Muslims also believe in all the Phropets of the Christians and Jews including Adam, Noah, Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Job, Moses, Aaron, David, Salmon, Elias, Jonah, John the Baptist and Jesus.
But All the Prohpets had brought the same message i.e. belief in one GOD, upright human conduct and belief in the accountability of human acts at the end of time.
Indeed Islam is the fastest growing religion in the world. Unfortunately Islam seem strange to non-Muslim because it is a religion which imparts every part of life from eating and sleeping to working and playing. However, one must realize that peace can never be achieved in vaccum. It is intertwined with justice. One can have peace only on basis of justice
